We learnt all about Brazil as they are hosting the soccer World Cup this year!
We decorated our door in a rain forest theme.
We also made carnival masks and made a jersey for each of the players.

This week we focused on World Water Week. Each class in the school had to design a poster about saving water or the importance of water. Our design was special as we wanted to include our Connecting Classroom schools on our poster, so we drew a map of Africa and identified where South Africa, Zimbabwe and UK were on the map. It was great fun tearing up all the paper and creating a mosaic globe! We also found the facts about water very interesting. We ended the week with a school assembly about the importance of water. Mr Tarr is currently doing his teaching practical in our class. As one of his environmental lessons, we discussed what the term "sustainable living" means. Then we worked on what our "carbon footprint" is. We played around on the Smartboard. We learnt that HARARE is Zimbabwe's capital. We also had a look at Eiffel Flats' school website and photo gallery. "Ted" is our official mascot from Charles Darwin, UK. He sits proudly in our classroom, learning about our South African culture and studying what our children learn each day at school.
