This week we focused on World Water Week. Each class in the school had to design a poster about saving water or the importance of water. Our design was special as we wanted to include our Connecting Classroom schools on our poster, so we drew a map of Africa and identified where South Africa, Zimbabwe and UK were on the map. It was great fun tearing up all the paper and creating a mosaic globe! We also found the facts about water very interesting. We ended the week with a school assembly about the importance of water.
Mr Tarr is currently doing his teaching practical in our class. As one of his environmental lessons, we discussed what the term "sustainable living" means. Then we worked on what our "carbon footprint" is. We started off the term by planting some veggies. As you can see, the butternut is really taking off! We also planted peas, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots and beans. |
